Yet another packed with information show. This is the first time I've heard Dr. Peat talking about mTOR, mentioning that progesterone is precursor to glucocorticoids, and why he does not in favor of (wisdom) tooth extraction.

"The brain is participating everywhere in the body... you cannot really separate body metabolism from brain metabolism and so the brain is involved in everything that goes on. The more you can let the brain be responsible for governing the immune system controlling of the balance of inflammation and anti-inflammation, the better it is for the brain."

His comments on the anti-fungal effects of erythromycin and other macrolides are also interesting.

His comments on the anti-fungal effects of erythromycin and other macrolides are also interesting.
From this interview:

On macrolides, mTor and rapamycin.

"This particular antibiotic was used as a fungus killer. It's broad-spectrum, but especially effective against fungus and it happens to be in the same family of antibiotics as azithromycin and erythromycin, clarithromycin and so on.
It's a ring structure and those are know to have a very amazing spectrum of activity. People reported when covid was cured with a combination of hydroxycloroquine and azithromycin, they were ridiculed because everyone said antibiotics only kill bacteria, but in fact this class of antibiotics, happens to kill viruses as well as fungus and so the actual knowledge about antibiotics and fungus and viruses was actively suppressed in favor of pharmaceutical special antiviral drugs, which happen to be mutangens in general .

After it was discovered to be a great treatment for fungal infections it was found to have many other effects, anti-inflammatory effects, which are typical effects of that family, azithromycin for example and in exploring how the anti-inflammatory effect works, they found that it works on a particular kinase, an enzyme that attaches phosphate groups to particular enzymes and functional proteins. And the phosphorylation directs towards growth and inflammation and they found that the antibiotic inhibiting this particular kind of phosphorylating enzyme, extended life span drastically and reduced cancer and inflammatory diseases."

So azithromycin could kill candida/yeast aswell as SIBO? :openmouth:
theoretically yes.

but take into account that if bacteria get killed ,fungi thrive ,and vice versa.
so if its anti-bacterial effects are stronger than the anti-fungal ,there would be a relative in increase in fungi anyway, i suppose, since bacteria are beeing killed to a larger degree than fungi. The proof is in the pudding though!
