Coughing and runny nose shortly after drinking some baking soda?

It wasn’t that much and about ten minutes later I had that reaction. Shortly after it was gone again , but I wonder what could cause this (if not coincidence), cause that’s exactly what I’m dealing with pretty often after waking up.

Sounds like the baking soda is working like an anti-histamine. Ray Peat says salt, sugar and caffeine are great natural anti-histamines. It sounds like it thinned some head congestion and the trickle of it caused the cough.
