Magnesium carbonate is almost completely insoluble in water, and undissolved cause obivoues gut issues. Has anyone found better alternatives?
I have months using Mg hidroxide (milk of magnessia) dissolved in carbonated water (water with gas), shake it, put in the refrigerator for 30 min, then shake again. 4 tbsp in 1.5 L of water, so far, drinking a quarter of glass of this is not giving me any problem, seems to soften feces, but nothing unpleasant

My understanding of this is that its low solubility means that it functions as a slow release supplement. I've not noticed gut issues with it personally, though it's quite possible that it would mess with stomach acid. Sometimes I don't feel like having it, and wonder if it would be good to vary with other forms.
