Most states in the US have laws that if child porn was found on your computer, there has to be investigation because even if it was not you who got it, technically you are in possession of it, and only law enforcement is allowed to process/disposed of it. So, even deleting child porn material from your computer is often a crime in most states in the US, and Krugman clearly is somehow above those laws/crimes and cannot be touched. Reminds me of Epstein a bit being "above police paygrade", but probably lower-caliber and one of the people Epstein/Mossad actually extorted.
