Rich people feel guilty for being rich, so they tell you it's YOUR fault for not also being rich. The great con.

"Work hard. Save every penny". If every rich person did JUST this, NO WAY they'd be filthy rich as they are. Unless they got money from an inheritance or the like, they almost always got their wealth from investments, stocks, things that TAKE MONEY TO MAKE MONEY.

Sure, some people/cultures sabotage themselves in life by living in the way of having 4, 5, 6 children already starting pre-20's. Yeah, good chance you'll be poor even though you work hard and have 2-3 jobs. I'm talking about the other people who work hard, live modestly, but in no way will ever be wealthy/free of money worry. There just isn't money to invest properly. I tried penny stocks, they are a scam, and I have had people in the industry tell me they are a scam. Will never forget time time I wanted to sell high but it stopped a FRACTION of a % so it didn't sell. Kept bouncing around my selling amount all day but always stopped a fraction of a penny away from it. So I changed the amount, same thing happened for the rest of the day. Totally fixed. They were right.

Any thoughts?

I hear your pain. Many rich people got where they are by stepping on the backs of others. I find them to be somewhat without moral values.

There are however trades that can make you financially stable (not super rich). For example, lineman electrician is getting paid over $60/hour (double overtime) with just having lineman school. Or if you are a bright software engineer you can get paid $350,000 a year while working remote.

Sometimes I wish money was never invented.

If those jobs are available and so doable, can I ask why you aren't doing them? Or maybe you are financially happy?

You're right about the stock market, for the retail trader, The Fix is in. High Frequency traders live in a world by themselves.

Blame the victim. It’s just a way to get people to blame themselves instead of the rigged system which is getting ready to self implode.

They do this so the people do not get out the fire and pitchforks.

They are great at propaganda. People struggle to get by day to day with stagnant wages and rapid increasing inflation and they tell them it taxes , not working hard enough, it’s because of government laws and regulations. Actually that part is true. But not the way they put it. The government relaxing regulations allowed corporations to steal more money from the middle and working class and put barriers to pulling people up from lower economic classes even through hard work and education.

They told people that they were poor because they didn’t go to college. Now they tell you going to college is waste. Which can be partially true due to increased cost which has turned into an kind of indentured servitude.

Americans are the most propagandized people in the world and we don’t even know it.

They tell you we don’t have money to help the poor , but manage to come up with money everytime there is a war. 100 billion to Ukraine, trillions to Iraq and Afghanistan. Billions for wallstreet and the banks when they fail.

IT’s socialism for the rich and rugged individualism for the rest of us.

Voltaire said about God that ‘there is no God, but don’t tell that to my servant, lest he murder me at night’.

Hammurabi would have said the same about his principle of hierarchy, and Thomas Jefferson about human rights. Homo sapiens has no natural rights, just as spiders, hyenas and chimpanzees have no natural rights. But don’t tell that to our servants, lest they murder us at night.”

Excellent post!

The "New Age" philosophers like to blame the poor for their condition.

In 1903, a not-so-popular journalist by the name of James Allen wrote in his work "As a Man Thinketh".....

"It has been usual for men to think and to say, "Many men are slaves because one is an oppressor; let us hate the oppressor." Now, however, there is among an increasing few a tendency to reverse this judgment, and to say, "One man is an oppressor because many are slaves; let us despise the slaves."

See? Allen is saying we should now despise the slaves because they are slaves. As if it's their fault that they are NOT sociopaths and are NOT willing to do what a few are willing to do to become rich.

The purpose of an economy is to satisfy the wants and needs of the participants in the economy, not to make a few kings and the many slaves.

Sociopathy is being rewarded in most economies around this sick world and it will soon come to an end because the masses will no longer stand for it.

In general the filthy rich are unlikely to feel guilty about being rich, as suspectibility to guilt would have handicapped their ability to get rich in the first place due to the nature of what kind of actions amassing wealth will inevitably require. The upper middle class probably feels guiltier about its prosperity on average than the wealthier classes.

I smell jealousy and laziness.
Yeah that’s a good one they use.

They say you are just jealous like they are 14 year old middle school girl. I am amazed by the amount of grown men that fall for that one.

What I mean is, just about very filthy rich man I have heard say "Well, I work/worked my **** off! I saved every penny!" making excuses as to why THEY are rich and you are "poor".

It's often true that they did work their **** off and were much more dedicated to work and success than the average person. What they may overlook is that not everyone lives in the right circumstances to profit from their hard work as much as they did. Though much of it comes down to the luck of being in the right time and place as well as knowing the right people, among those who are turning their riches to greater riches, hard work and long hours are nevertheless the norm. That is why they are telling others to put in a similar amount of work if they want to get richer.

BINGO. Nothing to do with "You too can be rich if you put in the work".

You can't know until you try. Certainly there are many who could be filthy rich if they cared enough to pursue the required lifestyle. Some of them aren't even trying because they think they have no chance.

You assume millions of people don't try.. and try and work HARD and try again.

“One day a fisherman was lying on a beautiful beach, with his fishing pole propped up in the sand and his solitary line cast out into the sparkling blue surf. He was enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sun and the prospect of catching a fish.

About that time, a businessman came walking down the beach, trying to relieve some of the stress of his workday. He noticed the fisherman sitting on the beach and decided to find out why this fisherman was fishing instead of working harder to make a living for himself and his family. “You aren’t going to catch many fish that way,” said the businessman to the fisherman.

“You should be working rather than lying on the beach!”

The fisherman looked up at the businessman, smiled and replied, “And what will my reward be?”

“Well, you can get bigger nets and catch more fish!” was the businessman’s answer. “And then what will my reward be?” asked the fisherman, still smiling. The businessman replied, “You will make money and you’ll be able to buy a boat, which will then result in larger catches of fish!”

“And then what will my reward be?” asked the fisherman again.

The businessman was beginning to get a little irritated with the fisherman’s questions. “You can buy a bigger boat, and hire some people to work for you!” he said.

“And then what will my reward be?” repeated the fisherman.

The businessman was getting angry. “Don’t you understand? You can build up a fleet of fishing boats, sail all over the world, and let all your employees catch fish for you!”

Once again the fisherman asked, “And then what will my reward be?”

The businessman was red with rage and shouted at the fisherman, “Don’t you understand that you can become so rich that you will never have to work for your living again! You can spend all the rest of your days sitting on this beach, looking at the sunset. You won’t have a care in the world!”

The fisherman, still smiling, looked up and said, “And what do you think I’m doing right now?””

Stupid parables that don't fit modern life. Sorry if that sounds harsh. I'm not quite ready yet to go live in a remote part of the jungle. I want more from life than just fishing all day.
