In this video @haidut at 4:12 mentioned how he started educating himself on human biology, physiology and bio-chemistry with a few books that he got recommended. Inspired by Ray Peat and the bioenergetic community and its approach to health, the human organism and the world as such, my dream currently is to study biology or something similar (haven't made a definitive decision) and ideally become similarly literate and knowledgeable on this subject as a few of the bigger names in this community, like Georgi, Ray and so on. Before I study biology at a university though, I think it'd be a good idea to educate myself with other resources, which I am in the progress of doing anyways, but I want to do so more thoroughly than I have up to this point. My understanding of health and human biology is deeper than that of the average person I'd say, but it's still very, very basic and superficial overall.
So my question essentially is: What are some good resources to get started in educating oneself on human biology and/or biology as such, human physiology & bio-chemistry, in a deep manner? I know that there are other threads on this same topic, but I have mostly seen people being referred to podcasts or blog articles, which I don't think reach the level of depth of the education I am looking for, that thorough books and other works can reach. Additionally, I'd just like to have some fresh opinions on this topic. Keep in mind, I am 21 years old and seriously considering making something in this niche of health, biology, bio-chemistry, etc my career and life purpose!
Again, my goal is to reach a much deeper, more intricate and nuanced understanding than what is commonly perpetuated as the truth by mainstream media outlets, doctors, health officials and health organizations, and become actually knowledgeable on this subject. Any good resources, or tips on getting started in building a seriously strong foundation of knowledge in this general area, is very much appreciated.
