great post, thanks for taking the time and writing this, I think you're right about this: it's rather a simplicistic approach to fixate on upregulating hormonal processes without taking into account the broader emotional (transpersonal) context that those internal processes may in fact be reflecting. Also I like how you connect "integrity" and sexuality. I cannot speak from experience yet but have a strong intuition that indeed the more aligned and integrated (or TRUE) I become as a man the feminine energy that presents itself as alluring to me is all the more 'healing' and rejuvenating for me, provided that I have the courage to relax into the truth of the situation and approach the person in question in the first place, of course ;)
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks! Well although there is a hormonal problem with this besides social isolation ...actually increased cortisol that will accumulate loads of Estrogen and drop in Progesterone will induce unsatisfaction with sex and obssesion and compulsive urgent need to watch internet porn and fap multiple times a day as can be seen in older People(over40) LOL that are most common users of it.

Well finding a True Love and having children and family with Her is the most rewarding activity one can have in life and a big realization that being selfish or having supposed polygamy antinatalist phylosophy during whole life is a serious mental asperger type illness and pathology from this society. I am currently going through this and We are expecting our first child in a less then 20 days.
Most healthiest women are those who had most healthy pregnancies . See how my mother looked young, bright and beautifull after giving birth to three childs. Its a tradition from the Ancient Vinchans Vinča culture - Wikipedia( but its much older than 5000 y) to have three childs in order to keep health in family.

This kind of connection can not be achieved with Bio-Hacking and following others ISP( unfortunately for you i remembered that detail and decoded , i didnt watch but hope you enjoyed Lol

Sorry big King to dissapoint you But you first need to stop watching porn as my father who have problems with his sexual career.
Try listening to Serbian kolo's. It might help since Peating didnt. This is advice from real Balkanian Rebel(Genetics i think) I think this therapy also migh help

It seems there is a great diversity or results related to no fap/abstinence. I wonder how many of the physical results people experience are related to their psychological attitudes about sex, masturbation, love, and pornography. Most cultures seem to have highly developed moral positions related to sex and romantic relationships, including masturbation, which is even considered a sin in some belief systems. Having an orgasm outside of what is considered acceptable in one's belief system (conscious or otherwise ingrained), can cause feelings of guilt or wrongdoing that is likely to have an adverse physical manifestation. I don't have any advanced knowledge in this matter, just throwing it out there as good for thought.

That is actually a very popular observation that I've probably heard over a hundred times. The problem is that modern day society no longer fears masturbation or pornography. In fact people are taught it is healthy and can reduce prostate cancer risks. I have seen many people in the Nofap reddit page who once thought masturbation was healthy and we're encouraged by their peers to do so. And yet they have the same problems as those whose culture shames masturbation.

I'm not trying to argue. If you are seeing health benefits from what you are doing, then I will trust your judgment that it is right for you. I would add, though that what "modern day society no longer fears" is not the same as what an individual may have anxiety about. It one grows up thinking something is taboo, that belief can linger, sometimes even only in the unconscious mind. Other people encouraging the taboo behavior may not change that.

Some might say that modern society no longer fears homosexuality, but we still hear about people like Ryan O'Callahan who was prepared to kill himself rather than come out as gay. I think how a person internally interprets their culture/belief system can be highly individual.

It appears you are comfortable that no taboos are involved for you, and I will take that as the final word, because I'm certain you know more about you than I do. That doesn't mean it doesn't impact others and couldn't skew studies, though.

This.

I also encourage everyone who is interested to actually look into the literature before 1950 about masturbation.
I find it kind of strange, that most western thinkers of the past have seen chronic masturbation as a vice with negative consequences and then all of a sudden we are enlightened and it is absolutely healthy and natural to do it.

One of the more well known works about this topic of the 18th century was L'Onanisme from the swiss physician Samuel-Auguste Tissot, where he describes many of the same symptoms which get now rediscovered by the nofap-community, like bad memory, fatigue, depression and anxiety. He also tells many preculiar anecdotes and references other famous physicians like hyppocrates and galen.

Society doesn't "fear" these things, but that's not the point--society disavows them, especially for men. It's similar to marijuana. Just because weed is no longer illegal everywhere now doesn't mean it has society's support and acceptance. Attitudes, feelings of shame, and feelings of acceptance or judgement are real things.

People being told it's healthy doesn't matter if they feel terrible about themselves when they do it. Just because something should be physically harmless doesn't make it psychologically safe when it's bundled with feelings of guilt, shame, low self-esteem, low status, etc. The Reddit NoFap pages are filled with men who seem to suffer from such feelings.

Abstaining from masturbating seems analogous to fasting; unless there's something terribly physically wrong with your digestion/penis, what's the point?

Aww come on I love arguing :D. There are certainly those who have emotional problems with masturbation and porn use. But it seems that there is little difference in the symptoms of those who have emotional conflicts with it and those who don't. This is obviously an anecdotal observation however.

It is the popular belief among the Nofap community that self esteem issues and low status are caused by physiological responses to frequent orgasm. It is also believed in many ancient cultures including the Chinese and Greek cultures that orgasm leads to weakness. There is some science behind this as well but it is not overly explored. I think it is at least worth consideration.

We'll have to agree to disagree. For straight men with healthy hormone production and strong and healthy sex drives, such beliefs sound ridiculous to the point where one can't help but wonder if those who promote such theories are gay or bisexual and at odds with their sexuality or something.

Foregoing frequent orgasms is as undesirable for straight men as foregoing food is for underweight people. It's possible but it's not healthy. It's craziness. And blaming masturbation for people who have sex drive problems or ED is like blaming eating for morbid obesity; it's off base and it doesn't even scratch the surface of the actual problem.

Agree to disagree then. Our experiences and perceptions on the physiology are obviously very different.

what can I do about frequent distracting erotic thoughts once in into the nofap streak?

@desert_all_day Masturbating is a shameful, low rank behavior.

In chimps only the low rank, sexually unsuccessful monkeys masturbate.

Transmute the sexual energy to elsewhere in your life. Sexual frustration makes for some good motivation to improve one's life and self.

Your motivation to dress up, go to a club, and hit on bimbos went out the window? You should be glad. Now you can be productive towards goals that will actually improve your life in the long-term.

I tried it for 80 days at some point and noticed 0 improvement. Use it or lose it in my experience, on the other hand doing it less than twice a week seems to be beneficial.

My motivation to do anything more than the basic disappears.

But my creativity and artistic drive is what really takes the hit.

That puts those previous drives and motivations into question then imo. Maybe fap (or have sex) more often and see if new and more interesting motivations gradually present themselves?

Did you have normal sex or wet dreams during that period? I suspect that the benefits of Nofap are due exclusively to a lack of orgasm... which is disappointing.
