Can Someone Discuss This Parrot Quail Study

This study, in two parts, finds that two kinds of birds differ in their lifespan by a factor of up to five but sustain about the same amount of stress to their mitochondria and erythrocytes, although the parrots (longer life) produce more glutathione peroxidase.

I searched for parrot pufa on Google and this page came up.

Tyw's comment about parrots' natural regulatory mechanism excluding pufas stuck out at me. African flamingos have exceptional lifespans because they are low pufa.

This is what tyw said about the parrots: "endogenous regulatory pathways prevent accumulation no matter how much PUFA they eat". Yet the harm in PUFA-rich tissue isn't that it would accumulate but that it would oxidize, and that is exactly what happens to the parrots. They sustain the exact kind of attack by oxygen and nitrogen species that us Peatists are trying to avoid. But it doesn't hurt them.
