Any thoughts on this interview? I have not had a chance to hear it yet.

Great information as always! He specifically talked a bit about vitamin b1 for anxiety and memory and gave 10mg as a typical dose with a 100mg as a very large dose for more of a crisis type situation. He also touched on CO2 which I always love hearing about! He seems to be answering a lot of questions that come up on the forum in his interviews and newsletters. Maybe he is trying to keep a pulse on what information people need since his following has become to large to speak one on one with everybody that studies his work. Hopefully he knows we really appreciate it!

Yes, he talks about fuel, protein, B1 for someone just out of poor nutrition, how animal products like milk and eggs are rich in B1. How these nutrients and specifically B1 help cognition. But he also mentions vit A for several reasons, not just (brain) steroid synthesis. Vitamin A deficiency caused by poor nutrition (animal livers are good), exposure to UV (damage of vit A promoted by pufa, protected by vitamin E). Interesting details about serotonin release spreading from the intestin to the brain in a vicious circle, release from the platelets in times of anxiety. Interaction between serotonin, CO2, brain temperatutre, thyroid, magnesium carbonate and salt - all interacting together.

One interesting part was his discussion
of the essentiality of adequate protein for memory to work properly.
I've heard/read Peat talk about the importance of protein, of course,
but I can't remember seeing him make the specific connection to memory.

He talked about the importance of keeping brain temps up for memory.
Said the most important things for doing that are:
-protein
-salt
-thyroid
-progesterone

Also a very interesting exploration of the short-comings, as Peat sees it,
of using digital models to understand consciousness.

Smartly hosted by Andrew.
What a relief from Josh.
Sorry--I appreciate his knowledge and his show,
but his hosting skills could be improved.
Last show I listened to of his,
about endotoxin,
it sounded like after every question, as Peat was answering,
he decided he should clean up his office
and cut a hundred pieces of paper on his paper chopper.

Actually, this Herb Doctors show was having some tech/sound difficulties too.

Technical difficulties and poor sound quality seems to be part of RP interviews.
John Barkhausen interviews are my favorite and those got the worst sound quality.
Josh Rubin interview series covers all the essential but his voice is so irritating
it is hard to listen to those repeatedly. Herb Doctors interviews are great but
there are several irritating regular callers. I have noticed RP seems to be more
relaxed and open with female interviewers: PUJA netwrok, rainmaking ,Eluv.

So true!
Listening to Peat at the beginning of ELUV
I thought he had snorted some coke!
So upbeat and fast-paced!

And true too about the repeat, irritating callers on Herb Doctors.
I wish they would stop the format of letting callers call about unrelated stuff.
This one very sweet woman with a heavy accent calls often
and just goes on and on with her own checklist, completely unrelated to the topic.
Takes a huge chunk out of the show and completely derails it.

Maybe Andrew should let Sarah run the show one time and see how it goes. :P

I love Sarah.
They make a good combo.
Wish she was more involved, but...babyworld...

She often cuts through and cinches a crucial point,
or helpfully clarifies terms.
She and Peat have a good vibe.
She's not afraid to kid around everso slightly sometimes.

You tune-in to Ask the Herb Doctors driving somewhere far away,
with that mystical flute,
the sun is going down...
it can be a little transporting.
Andrew's mellifluous and he is well-versed in the area.
Like honey to the ear.
As I say, especially coming from 2 hours of Josh.

And in this Kay Mud show
Andrew did a really good job navigating
through those deep seas: consciousness, consciousness and nutrition,
Aldous Huxley's grandfather,
analog and digital interpretations of aural and olfactory reality, etc.
