The results seem pretty promising , also that they are planning on conducting a large sample clinical trial on red light as an AD treatment!

"The percentage of participants who exhibited a change larger than 4 points from baseline to week 12 was determined for the intervention and control groups on the ADAS-Cog (57% versus 29%), ADL (29% versus 0%), and MMSE (57% versus 14%). Treatment with NIR light did not increase the incidence of adverse events in participants.

Conclusion: NIR light treatment appears to be safe and potentially beneficial for AD patients. It improved cognitive function and activities of daily living. The preliminary data encouraged us to launch a large-sample, multicenter, double-blind clinical trial."

This mouse study also found that red light helps with AD. And once again the gut seems to be implicated in neurological diseases.

"We found that APP/PS1 mice treated with MIR light had improved learning and memory abilities and reduced amyloid-β (Aβ) plaque load in the brain. We also surprisingly found that the gut microbiota composition in APP/PS1 mice treated with MIR light returned to normal (wild type mice) levels. Together, these findings suggested a novel non-invasive and promising avenue for AD treatment via photobiomodulation, and also proposed that future target for AD might be the gut microbiota via the brain-gut-skin axis."
