Hypothyroid Weight Gain - Is there no hope?

Recently watched this video of retired Brazilian football star Ronaldo Nazario. He retired from professional football in 2011 due to hypothyroidism. My physical frame looks the exact same as his, bloated face, stomach, big waist. Was wandering if there is no hope for people with this condition to loose weight??. You would assume a guy with Ronaldo's finances would have got the best doctors, medicines to treat the condition but still has made not much progress with loosing weight.

Isn't sugar and/or milk loaded up with supplemental Vit A over there?

I've definitely leaned up since going lower A. I don't weight myself but I have a critical eye and the mirror doesn't lie! I can easily get into my 33" jeans now. I had to go out and buy some 36" jeans just after this Christmas, 2023.

I don't think it's high in anything except glucose and fructose!
