• tca300: I understand this is off topic from what you typically teach, but I was wondering if you have run across any information or learned on your own, things that help people grieve over lost loved ones, and or fear of losing others to death? Thank you!

Ray Peat: It activates the “helplessness” reactions in the body, stress weakening your own life, and I think it can help to get out of that if you think of your life as a continuation of theirs—the same life, though with fewer bodies.

    Virtual communication blunts creativity

The title says it all, and it is really something most people working in an office environment and engaging in daily tele-/video- conferencing already intuitively know is true. However, the mechanism through which this "creativity-killing" effect of virtual communication methods manifested...

Playfulness, Novelty, And Leisure Are Vital For Progress And True Knowledge

About a year ago I made a post arguing that leisure, desire, playfulness and relaxation are vital for learning and knowledge. Leisure And Desire Required For Intelligence, Knowledge And Progress The study below now argues that unstructured play similar to the way children play is absolutely...

Stress Promotes Habit, Reduces Novelty Seeking

I was surprised to find out that this connection is apparently well-known. Sugar And Creativity

I just thought I'd share my experience as the subject of creativity has came up a bit in recent times. I'm an artist and I've been absolutely fascinated how much much Peating has changed me mentally/emotionally in the 9 or so months that I have been doing it. I get a subtle but nice dopamine...

Intuition, Creativity Make Us Altruistic; Reasoning Selfish

I think this study supports Ray's ideas well. Too much analytical thinking is the hallmark of selfish, authoritarian thought and a symptom of defective metabolism. Creativity, altruism, trusting your senses and intuition is the behavior of "artists" and revered by the likes of William Blake...

Hi all. Hope you are all well :-) So aside from eating a pro-thyroid diet, what can one do to improve creativity and/or intelligence? Short or long term, and there any hacks/supplements/practices that work? I would be particularly interested in hearing from any artists that may be on the forum...

    Peat, Peating, And Creativity

This thread started elsewhere, so I'm making a new thread for it. It began by my asking "peatarian" about writer's block:
