A new method for rapidly and simultaneously decreasing serotonin and catecholamine synthesis in humans
This study looked at an amino acid blend that was complete, except for tryptophan, phenylalanine, and tyrosine.
They found that giving this "mixture" in place of a meal resulted in a dramatic reduction in serotonin and catecholamines. It isn't real clear what the mixture was. And the circumstances were pretty extreme, as the subjects were otherwise fasting.
But I thought it interesting and wonder whether milder results could be achieved under more moderate conditions.
