Thanks for your thoughts on this. Would watching your life through a movie be such a bad thing? I have sometimes heard people exclaim that they feel like they are in a movie when they are having a great time and enjoying themselves thoroughly. Or maybe there is a distinction between life feeling like a movie and feeling like you are looking through a movie? Would you describe high serotonin as having a depersonalizing effect?
Yes high serotonin is depersonalizing. It also seems to make one less aware of various aspects in his/her surroundings. It's hard to describe but if I'm ever consuming a lot of trypotphan and then take a serotonin antagonist I suddenly realize things I missed before. Serotonin puts me in a daze.

How about taking 5-10g of gelatin?

How much total gelatin should be consumed a day?
It is normal to consume 80g gelatin a day, however it is safe to go much higher than this. Gelatin does counter some of serotonin's inflammatory properties, however it does not prevent trypotophan absorption and you'll still likely suffer from other negative effects of serotonin. Theoretically the calcium in milk is supposed to reduce serotonin production but there are not studies showing this and milk still gives me signs of increase serotonin whenever I drink it (as well as estrogen signs). Certain cheeses and eggs are also high in trypotophan, in fact most peaters seem to adopt a diet higher in trypotophan than before. These foods might still be good for you but it is best to reduce their absorption again via bcaa's and tryosine. They should be taken together as bcaa's will lower dopamine too unless you take tryosine with it.

Do dopamine agonist / serotonin antagonist drugs have a positive effect after cessation (increased baseline dopamine and dopamine receptors and decreased baseline serotonin and serotonin receptors)?
To the best of my knowledge a dopamine agonist will lower dopamine receptors. However this effect is negligible compared to how much porn and masturbation (and even too much sex) downregulate receptors. If you avoid these activities your receptors will still upregulate even on a dopamine agonist (depending on how strong the agonist is). Serotonin agonists seem to actually downregulate serotonin receptors suggesting that increases in serotonin create a positive feedback loop which is bad. DHT also lowers most serotonin receptors but increases the good ones.

Wheat based foods
Anything that irritates bowels
Sunburn
Long term starvation
Endotoxin/ inflammation of intestine
Bananas, tomatoes, pineapple
Light deficiency

This list is both interesting, but also way off on some things.

Where have you seen that methylene blue can lower serotonin? Methylene blue is known to be able to induce serotonin syndrome.

Also, please provide references for agmatine, charcoal, carrot, bamboo shoots lowering serotonin.

It's not my list and I'm not going to look for references, but charcoal would be very easy to find and I think the effects of MB on serotonin are dose dependent.

Link?
As for the list of serotonin lowering compounds I know the list is not yours, but theres alot of none-sense in the list, look agmatine up @ examine.com for example.

I don't have a link on calcium but it affects the conversion to niacin vs serotonin. You can see the effect indirectly by looking at the effect of calcium on prolactin and prolactin on serotonin.
I'm not familiar with agmatine, and I'm not sure what the examine article is actually saying about it's effects on serotonin. Effects on plasma serotonin or Tph might give a clearer picture.

I recently listened to a RP interview, where he confirmed the above. Milk calcium converts tryptophan to niacin pathways.

Also wheres the link of calcium affecting prolactin?
Well have a look at examine then... even posted a link.
Theres too many people on the internet just claiming things, no backup..

Did he assume this or has this been scientifically proven?
I agree with peat saying that excessive serotonin in general is a bad thing, but theres much more at play.

I spent hours trying to verify that one day and then lost the relevant bookmarks.

Clicked on the link, no scientific studies included in the thread though :S
edit: ill have a look at the link you posted later :) cheers for that

Thinking if those aren't helpful maybe a email to RP, see if he can provide some studies. I think he still responds to inquiries, not sure of his email though.
