Malondialdehyde levels increased only in the the control group. Malondialdehyde (MDA) is one of the final products of polyunsaturated fatty acids peroxidation in the cells. An increase in free radicals causes overproduction of MDA. Malondialdehyde level is commonly known as a marker of oxidative stress and the antioxidant status in cancerous patients.
And from 1982, Unequivocal demonstration that malondialdehyde is a mutagen
Taurine as a possible antiaging therapy: A controlled clinical trial on taurine antioxidant activity in women ages 55 to 70
Based on the antioxidant effects of taurine, which are capable of controlling oxidative stress in the aging process, the aim of this study was to inve…

Highlights
•Taurine supplementation can minimize oxidative damage in women 55 to 70 y of age by modulating the antioxidant system.
•Taurine supplementation prevented decreases in the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase.
1.5 grams of taurine for 16 weeks increased superoxide dismutase (SOD, antioxidant enzyme) by about 20%. It is my understanding that raising SOD with oral supplementation is very difficult.•Taurine supplementation may be a viable nutritional strategy for controlling oxidative stress during the aging process.

Study shows that amino acid taurine could be used in anti-aging therapy
When our cells process the oxygen we breathe and the food we eat every day in order to survive, they generate potentially toxic by-products popularly known as “free radicals”. Some of these molecules perform functions essential to the organism, but if there are too many of them the cells’...
