ray peat said:For example, steroid acetates are generally a little cheaper than the simple natural steroid. Some people assume that an acetate or butyrate can be substituted for the steroid itself. This can cause dangerous reactions......Pregnenolone acetate similarly blocks the enzymes which normally metabolize pregnenolone.
I asked Swanson if their products had bioidentical pregnenolone or pregnenolone acetate.
They said, "After getting back in touch with our product specialist, our Swanson brand Pregnenolone is not in the form of bioidentical pregnenolone or pregnenolone acetate."
Confused.... If I were to take pregnenolone and drink vinegar at the same time, would it have the same risks as taking pregnenolone acetate??
No one at Swanson has been able to answer this.Wait, then what does it contain?

Any updates? That's pretty concerning because it violates FDA rules to have the proper ingredient listed on the label. Surprised to see it in a big vendor like Swanson. Unlike fats, where the label can say just "MCT or SFA", the rules are a little different for steroids - i.e. the exact steroid (and its salt) need to be specified. If somebody talks to Swanson again then this can be brought up.
It reminds me once again that most of the big vendors probably sell pure junk or seriously compromised ingredient since they have contracts for production where they get whatever the production/bottling vendor offers as bulk ingredients. One more reason for us to never outsource any portion of the business. Sometimes it helps to be small
This is completely shocking! Doesn't seem possible.I asked Swanson if their products had bioidentical pregnenolone or pregnenolone acetate.

Buy from healthnatura. It's legit. Idealabs is legit as well. No need to go to those big brand scammers. This is completely shocking! Doesn't seem possible.
I tried their pregnenolone about 3 years ago. Now I have to find out if it was formulated with pregnenolone lol. But if their pregnenolone products don't necessarily contain pregnenolone then it could have anything in it bc the label is meaningless. The label didn't say silica but why not put silica in it?
Yeah, well I guess you have no choice unless you're into reverse purity. Pure unadulterated excipientBuy from healthnatura. It's legit. Idealabs is legit as well. No need to go to those big brand scammers.
