I'm French and there is a popular diet here : Chrononutrition diet (by Alain Delabos)
Here are the main guidelines :
- Breakfast mandatory to shutdown cortisol : Rich in saturated fats
- Lunch mandatory to helps body repairs for the next night : Rich in protein / meat.
- Mid-afternon snack for sweet tooth. Not mandatory : Rich in vegetal (sugar and fat)
- Dinner. Not mandatory, only if hungry and if snack had been eaten : Rich in light protein (fish) and a little fiber.
The Idea is to fuel your body with the right food at the right moment.
Most important moments are breakfast and lunch.
Proportions are important. You need twice as much as animal as vegetal.
You can increase animal at satiety, never vegetal.
Sample day :
Breakfast is cheese (4oz), bread (2oz) and butter (tbps).
Lunch is meat (6oz), starch (2oz)(especially potatoes and legumes)
Snack if taken is fruit and nuts
Dinner if taken is fish and vegetables
