I've been researching this for a while.
Going way back -- back to the beginning of the year -- I had symptoms -- really really bad ones -- where I was just dripping sweat, shaking like a leaf, vision was blurred and double, and anything my stomach was doing made me shake. I also had a weird fizzing feeling in my nerve endings like the very small unmyelinated fibers were melting or something. It was *very* scary and I ended up going to the ER a couple times. The only thing they could find was low potassium ( which could have been a diagnostic clue but since I had been sweating my weight in water maybe not) and a shift to a sort of viral picture in my blood fractions.
Also, for a while I had a red rash across my cheeks that was decidedly malar -- since resolved, but it went on for at least a month or two.
Every time I've tried to find something that matches these symptoms I end up somewhere in the vicinity of serotonin syndrome. It was that actually that got me onto cyproheptadine which calmed my stomach and the endless hyperhidrosis in a couple of days.
But there is nothing online that I can find that describes serotonin syndrome outside of an overdose of ssri's. Anybody? Is it possible without the overdose?
