The FDA has recently sent warning letters to caffeine powder suppliers, causing them to discontinue many of their products.
It's hard to tell whether the FDA's complaints can be addressed by introducing altered products/labeling, but I'm paranoid that this may be the end of easily-available pure caffeine powder. I'd already bought some in case this happened, so if you want to join me in preparation for a Mad Max-style future in which roving gangs fight over caffeine powder, I'm keeping track of each seller's availability here.
As far as I can tell, the FDA is unlikely to challenge regular caffeine tablet/capsule products, they're only concerned about how easy it is to take too much pure caffeine powder after some recent overdose deaths. So I don't think there's any cause for concern if you take something other than a powder form.
If it turns out the FDA can be satisfied by dilution and stricter labeling, we need Haidut to make a caffeine product diluted in powdered sugar
