Yogurt/Probiotics after a round of Antibiotics?

I have been planning on low dose antibiotic therapy for sometime and finally
jumped in after seeing your post . It has been 3 days now. First two days
50 mg of tetracycline. It was an immediate affect. Today i took one 100 mg
tetracycline and i have been feeling quite warm for last 2 days. I am sweating
a lot. There is a mild stomach upset and i might take one more dose tomorrow
and stop. I think the warmth you were feeling after antibiotics were not
from apple juice or other sources.

How's it going, Mittir?

Have you noticed any changes in tongue coating/coloring?
Any tinnitus?
How's your digestion?

Still feeling the warmth and sweating a lot. Did not check tongue .
I stopped yesterday and today i have a moderate upset stomach.
It was a good decision to start and stop after 3 days. No tinnitus yet.

My minocycline is in the mail. 100mg.

Mittir, you said you took 50mg first two days, then 100mg. But RP's quotes in this thread said he LOWERED the dose after feeling an effect. You said you felt an immediate effect after 50mg; then should you not have lowered the dose per RP?

Thanks

RP has several quotes on antibiotics. RP also talked about symptoms. I did not have any
symptoms. I just wanted to see how it affects metabolism. In one quote he recommended someone to use 30-50 mg daily. I was originally planning to use 50 mg for 4-5 days.
But, stomach upset from antibiotics were getting worse slowly. So, i ended with
a bigger dose. I could have used 50 mg for 2 more days.

Mittir-
Since you've returned I wanted to resurrect this thread.

I gather you had good immediate results from your antibiotic doses,
and nothing bad as a result.

I drifted away from this thread
because in the aftermath of my antibiotic dosing
I returned to the problematic state I'd been in for a while,
despite having good temp/pulse increase while taking them
and perhaps for a few days after.
So...I didn't know what my view of Peatish antibiotic taking was, exactly.
(and because you disappeared about that time,
I even sometimes feared you'd had a bad effect after your antibiotic dosings.)

Since then I've wondered whether I may have Candida.
Have gone on at some length about this on at least one thread.
And have also wondered if the fact that I am without an appendix
might be significant in my reaction to antibiotics.

So Mittir...
do you have an appendix? :D
And...do you see Candida as a legitimate disease,
or more of an invented "disease" concocted to drain people's wallets?
(This would seem to be approximately Peat's view.)

Appendix : yes.
I believe we have discussed a lot about candida before and to me it is a result of
hypothyroidism or metabolism problem, not just a yeast explosion.

My experiment with low dose tetracycline has been quite successful.
I have been raw carrot salad free for about 6 months. I still can't look at
carrot salad. I ate too many carrot for a life time. I might start eating
carrot salad soon. I was unsuccessful in finding an safe alternative to carrot fiber.

I eat some vegetable fiber and usually every 4-5 days, sometimes 10-15 days
1 pinch of Tetracyline around 50 mg. I can tell now when i need to have this dose.
If i feel flu like symptom or general lack of energy i take 1 pinch.
I did some reading on safety of low dose antibiotic therapy, it seems quite safe
but i am still bit unsure. Tetracyline is really good in variety of ways.
I see this dose as an alternative to anti-biotic foods like garlic, ginger etc.

I have not been able to quit starch yet and i see starch as the root cause for
a lot of health issues. I have increased my starch intake, including wheat to celebrate my
tolerance. I just make sure i am getting all my nutrients and drinking a lot of
milk regularly. Coconut oil and coffee seem essential when i eat starch.

I have noticed few people around me had dramatic improvement in health
issues after lowering starch intake and increasing sugar. One 4 year old was
having serious constipation problem for a year and nothing worked.
He was eating only a small amount of rice and rest is sugared milk.
He was all regular the day after cutting rice completely. It is kind of miraculous.
His constipation started after a course of antibiotic. It is definitely a gut flora issue.
It took me year to convince his mother that even a half cup of rice can cause a lot of problem.

Summary: Starch is deadly. ( for certain people)

I'm thinking this possibly might explain why you do well with antibiotics
while I don't.
Your appendix replenishes the good bacteria,
while in my case there is no appendix to repopulate
and this creates the vacuum allowing yeast to proliferate.

It may be a chicken or the egg problem:

Did I screw up my gut balance with antibiotics,
thus possibly creating an opening for candida,
thus impacting thyroid and metabolism...?

Or did I become unable to take thyroid meds without palps for some other reason,
thus making me hypothyroid,
thus causing gut problems (including maybe candida)...?

I think you may know how I view starch from a Peat standpoint. :)
But, ironically, and considering my theories above,
I came to the conclusion that I might possibly benefit from eating some starch,
because I might want to feed and cultivate more gut bacteria  --
since it might be overwhelmed by yeast post antibiotics.
The sprouted wheat bread and kraut I've added might've helped
(I also changed other things though, so hard to know).
My bowel movements are better,
and...something I did allowed me, just recently, to raise my thyroid supplementation up
to where it should be
without getting palpitations.
