Yeah, this is amazing.

looks like XYS can alleviate depression much better than anything I have seen.

Holy basil is a good anti cortisol and pro GABA but it has anti androgenic and anti fertility actions and must be used in combination with other Ayurvedic herbs to counter that. And that makes that Phytocee formula very interesting.

These two herbs reduce CRHR1 receptor density so less activation. CRHR1 receptors are very involved in the anxiety/stress response. Could Xiao Yao San and Holy Basil combo be useful for anxiety to reduce cortisol?

The XYS by itself is already a formula from TCM. I would be cautious about mixing it with another herb, especially with Holy Basil (Ocimum Sanctum) that is by itself a potent adaptogen.

Yeah, a part of this Phytocee formula is Withania Somnifera (Ashwagandha), which is considered a "pro-sex" hormone herb:

Effect of Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal on Sex Hormone and Gonadotropin Levels in Addicted Male Rats. - PubMed - NCBI

Abstract
BACKGROUND:
Opioid consumption has been widely increasing across the globe; how- ever, it can cause adverse effects on the body. Morphine, an opioid, can reduce sex hormones and fertility. Withania somnifera (WS) is a traditional herb used to improve sexual activities. This study strives to investigate the effect of WS on sex hormones and gonado- tropins in addicted male rats.

MATERIALS AND METHODS:
In this experimental study, forty-eight male National Maritime Research Institute (NMRI) rats were randomly divided into four groups: i. Control group, ii. WS-treated control group, iii. Addicted group, and iv. WS-treated addicted group. Water-soluble morphine was given to rats for 21 days to induce addiction, concurrently the treated groups (2 and 4) also received WS plant-mixed pelleted food (6.25%). At the end of the treatment, the sex hormone and gonadotropin levels of the rats' sera were determined in all the groups.

RESULTS:
Except for follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), morphine reduced most of the gonadotropin and sex hormone levels. Whereas WS caused a considerable increase in the hormones in the treated addicted group, there was only a slight increase in the treated control group.

CONCLUSION:
WS increased sex hormones and gonadotropins-especially testosterone, estrogen, and luteinizing hormone-in the addicted male rats and even increased the progesterone level, a stimulant of most sex hormones in addicted male rats.

''Results. Chronic pretreatment with Xiaoyaosan or antalarmin significantly reversed elevated anxiety-like behavior and the upregulated level of CRF1R and BDNF in the amygdala of stressed rats. Conclusions. These results suggest that Xiaoyaosan exerts anxiolytic-like effects in behavioral tests and the effects may be related to CRF1R signaling in the amygdala. ''

So xiaoyaosan decrease CRHR1 activity in the amygdala (basolateral?) and holy basil decreases CRHR1 somewhere in the HPA axis -possibly in the pituitary becuase that's were CRHR1 receptors are located.

''Social defeat is a source of chronic stress in animals and humans, capable of causing significant changes in behaviour, brainfunctioning, physiology, neurotransmitter and hormone levels, and health''
''Research also implicates that the referred behavioral effects are moderated by neuroendocrine phenomena involving serotonin, dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and in the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis , locus ceruleusand limbic systems''
''Anatomical connections between brain areas such as the amygdala, hippocampus, prefrontal cortex and hypothalamus facilitate activation of the HPA axis''

So these two herbs take care of the CRHR1 activity in the basolateral of the amygdala and hypothalamus/pituitary, that leves hippocampus and PFC.. do anyone know of any other herbs/supplements that decrease CRHR1 activity?
also whats the half life on these and human equivalent dosage?

''The medial zone of hypothalamus is part of a circuitry that controls motivated behaviors, like defensive behaviors''
''Likewise, the hypothalamus has a role in social defeat: Nuclei in medial zone are also mobilized during an encounter with an aggressive conspecific.''

is it possible holy basil decreases CRHR1 activity in the medial zone?

All information processed by the basolateral amygdala and is sent as output to the central nucleus of the amygdal which activates fear response. xiaoyaosan decrease CRHR1 activity in the amygdala in basolateral regions thus reducing activity?

need something that decrease CRHR1 in the central nucleus of the amygdala ?
