X Ray Query. Would A Foot X Ray Be Bad?

This is probably quite OTT but I banged the end of my foot near my little toe about 2 months ago and the pain is still there, also feels like there’s a lump compared to other foot. I can walk on it no problem, just hurts to touch.

I’m about to ring my doc up now and I should imagine he’s going to say x Ray.. how bad would an x Ray of the foot be? Is there a protection method for other organs etc?

An x-ray will show so little, I don't know why you'd bother. And how will it be treated, should imaging reveal something?
