A few weeks ago I posted about the vanilla variant possibly having residues of ethyleneoxide, for whatever reason.
Only the vanilla flavor.
(Rückruf: Ethylenoxid – Hersteller ruft Eis „Häagen-Dazs Vanilla / Classic Collection“ zurück)

Now they
Call back A BUNCH of different flavors for possible residue of another dangerous chemical, called 2-Chlorethanol. This time they callback 12 different products!

You don't even really need an ice maker, if you're hanging around the house and use a timer. All you need is to take out the mixture every half an hour and whisk it until you reach the desired consistency. If I remember correctly, it was suggested in a book with Italian recipes by Marco Pierre White, first British chef to obtain 3 Michelin stars.

How about just making your own? Simple recipe, deliciously rich, creamy no-churn ice cream. Even if you have an ice cream maker, DON'T churn this!

Ingredients
5x Egg whites. Whipped to stiff peaks. Set aside
500ml cream whipped till stiff (but not buttery). Set aside
3x Egg yolks with 1x can of condensed milk, 1x teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend till smooth

Combine yolk mixture with cream using a hand whisk.
VERY gently (so as to not deflate them) whisk egg whites into this mix.

Pour into a 2Liter-sized ice cream tub and freeze overnight.

You can add any flavour or other favourites to the mix before freezing.

Thank me later ;)

Edit: need not use whipping cream, result with regular cream is just as good.

Check for additives in whipping cream. All the whipping cream in my area has carrageenan.

Any other solid ice cream brand recommendations?

Van Leeuwan?
Not sure if you’re in the US, but Aldi here in the states has a line of ice cream called Specially Selected Super Premium with only chocolate, vanilla, and coffee flavors. They are minimal ingredients- milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks, and either cocoa, coffee, or vanilla extract. No carrageenan. They’re all tasty and happen to be cheap too.

The real problem is the FDA. Like all government institutions, they have no incentive to actually keep us safe. They can lie and enrich themselves 24/7 and never be replaced. Irredeemable.

That's what the Haagen Daas UK ingredients list looks like, more or less. Hopefully it's still safe.

this can be unrelated to this topic but I have a question about whether its good to eat such cold thing as ice cream? is it healthy when we try to rise our body temperature? I come to this idea bc I believe its strictly forbidden to eat anything cold in yogic diet which is very similar to ray peat way of eating. I feel like everyone come to an agreement with yogic teachings somehow...

They have it in Germany too.

I get very strong heart fluttering from the chocoloate variety. The vanilla one is fine.

Must be some kind of additive in the cocoa powder, maybe nanoparticles or something else that doesn‘t have to be declared on the label.

I'm bummed by this news. I've really been enjoying their pineapple coconut ice cream on these hot steamy days.

I do not think cold food or drinks is good if your metabolism is low. I melt my ice cream and drink it like a milkshake.

I have the same concern so when I have ice cream I try to drink some hot water to warm the belly back up. Is this healthy to do? Not sure.

I also had a feeling it wasn't the same, especially after the recall last year which strangely lasted months.

I noticed last year on the vanilla they added 'water' to the list of ingredients.
