Would organic turmeric be more reliably free of lead?

You think that turmeric would be such a nice thing to start adding, but it seems that this spice is just so commonly contaminated with all sorts of stuff, FDA found extreme levels of lead and chromium-6 in some, while a lot of studies are finding the same.
Its hard to trust anything coming from those third world countries, not to mention China.

Most powdered spices are contaminated, moldy or simply not fresh.

So buy the whole root, as you would with ginger. I use it in stews, juices, ...
