Why does weight lifting supresses the appetite?

Hello
I often hear that appetite is suppressed while doing weights or any other anaerobic activity but when doing cardio, the appetite goes up?
Is there really any mechanism behind all these theories or just different people, different experiences?

Just a theory, but the reduction in blood flow to the digestive system might temporarily suppress appetite, but I find myself pretty hungry 10-20 minutes after lifting (in a HIIT fashion though so it's more like short form cardio)

I get more of can appetite lifting weights but after some time, may be hour or so. Cardio from what I remember in excess would suppress my appetite. Go figure

If it supresses appetite you should not be lifting. Lifting activates adrenaline and the stress system and you stop running on normal metabolism to compensate for the demands of the exercise. If lifting stimulates appetite you have a strong metabolism, however if it does not you are hypothyroid.
