Moderately cold ambient temperatures cause FFA to go down. Maybe because the body has to compensatorily raise heat production. I think it's analogous to high altitude, it is a mild stressor but has positive metabolic effects.

And seems like thyroxin also has the same effect, and thyroxin also lowers lipid peroxidation.
