Hi all. As the title suggests, what is the best and safest way to chelate heavy metals out of the brain? And would it matter if you have amalgam fillings in your mouth?

- DMPS

- DMSA

- Succinic acid (questioning the safety of this one, it has strong affinity to bind to copper apparently, can this be dangerous in regards to blood vessel integrity?)

- Alpha lipoic acid

- DMSO

- EDTA (Dangerous according to studies if it is not calcium bound EDTA called CaEDTA as EDTA can strongly bind calcium apparently, this dangerous effect should be questioned in the other chelating agents named here as well)

- The Andrew Cutler protocol (unfamiliar with this but have seen it named alot on the internet before)

check out Modified Citrus Pectin
Is it safe? Will it carry heavy metals all the way to excretion? Thanks!

Also, if anyone knows, are chelation agents able to lower body copper levels, and is this dangerous, and could this potentiate aneurysms like abdominal aortic aneurysm?

"Animal studies showed that chelation can increase metal toxicity to the brain and kidneys. Vitamin C and other acids in orange juice reduce the toxicity of mercury and allow it to be excreted safely. At least for some metals, coffee seems to have a similar effect."

Would vitamin C safely chelate mercury and the alike?

Giving blood is probably the most effective way to reduce heavy metals quickly/safety, but chelators would need a pretty large dose to be effective, so side effects can occur.

Danny mentioned trying several protocols to get rid of HM, and that he felt his worst during this time with no significant results to show for it. Instead, he said that just increasing metabolic function/thyroid/liver health was much better than targeting a specific metal.

Every couple of months a new "chelation" thread pops up here, with virtually zero results to show for it outside of blood donation.

I asked Haidut about this in a pm:

In my experience, aspirin, vitamin E, any tetracycline antibiotic, milk, and coffee lower iron pretty reliably. They all happen to be iron chelators as well.

This is one of those situation where you can easily do more damage than help by using too much of a particular supplement.

CILANTRO but you also need other metals the replace the ones you are taking out so either some zinc and selenium foods.

I think a very important part is following a properly planned out 24 hr dosing schedule for up to a week. If you dont maintain a constant amount of chelator you are likely to just pull heavy metals out of safe storage and transplant them somewhere less safe. Look into Dr Hal Huggins protocol for mercury chelation.

just saw this. Im pretty sure you cant chelate with mercury fillings in place. Getting rid of those by a qualified holistic dentists should be your first step

Tons of alliums, garlic, cabbages and leafy greens. Sulfur (not elemental). Need to be eating like a whole bulb of red onion a day or a bulb of garlic a day.

I doubt any dentist would remove your fillings and hope the remaining hole remineralizes. Its just too big of a hole I would think
I wonder if some dentists do partial removals, letting the hole remineralize bit by bit. That would be a wise but expensive practice

For a chelator to evacuate heavy metals from the brain, it would have to be able to cross the blood brain barrier and thus needs to be lipophilic.

If upon entering the neurons, it meets in the blood mercury molecules, it will bind them and shift them inside the neurons, causing more harm than good.

So one needs first to lower the total peripheral burden of mercury before using lipophilic chelators.

One can use DMPS for that, while also taking garlic, iodine, magnesium.

Stay away from ALA or DMSA during all these times.

Cutler is spreading lies about the DMPS provocation test because it is able to diagnose pretty conclusively amalgam poisoning and thus would open the door to poisoned patients suing into oblivion the dental profession.
