What Do You Think: Warm Climate Fruits Only?

The first days of cold weather activate desaturase genes in some plants, including FAD2, which is the bridge between oleic and polyunsaturated acids in their metabolism. As it gets cold out, is it a good idea to try to eat mostly fruit from California, Mexico, warm places?

Peat does advocate foods be of the tropical variety closer to the equator... Can't remember where he said that however. The awnser to me is yes.

The further a plant gets from the equator, the more unsaturated its fats tend to have.

Maybe a good idea to act like a squirrel. Have a freezer and stock up on some fruit juices that can grow during spring and summer time in temperate climates. Like watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew.
