what do you think about the muscular strength of our ancestors and why they had this ability, as well as the speed, sturdiness and overwhelming strength of their wrists

Are you referring to something specific by any chance, like an article?

The shape your body assumes, and the muscle memory it calls upon is all a matter of your interaction with your environment.

Tribal people have several advantages:

- They still do what our bodies have done (and have been specialized for) for the last several hundred thousand years.

- No restrictive footwear to ruin the foundation of the skeletal structure is a big deal. I mean come on, which foot looks stronger to you?

- As for wrists, I'd think that the act of sitting on the ground and getting back up again is a fairly common practice in an environment void of chairs. Remove your house of all chairs and see how often you use your wrists to push yourself up off the ground. You never see folks sitting on the ground these days, it's a shame.

- Posture develops properly and synergistically with an environment that makes sense evolutionary. Lots of walking, squatting, carrying things, and generally moving around within an abstract environment helps create a well-rounded structure. There's also the fact that babies are not put into odd "movement helpers" like walkers, which delay and augment normal human bone development.

- And of course there's diet, it could be argued that most tribal people were able to sustain a much healthier diet than the mainstream junk food diet of today's civilized people. And don't forget natural circadian signalling.

[QUOTE = "jamies33, post: 577188, member: 7318"] Que força muscular nossos ancestrais tinham? [/ QUOTE]

work in the field for example, certainly many hours in very forced labor, such as manually clearing an area, required days and days in a row and obviously a lot, but a lot of muscle strength and resistance

overwhelming strength of their wrists

They had to masturbate without porn, and therefore needed to jerk very fast, so they developed very strong wrists. Their culture also emphasized using both hands, usually changing hands every 45 seconds. Very good workout, you can read about it in Weston Price's book

I mean, if you use your body regularly AND you don't have the ability or luxury to sit most of the day, your body will develop differently than it would otherwise. Our ancestors also had access to much fewer calories and were shorter than we are. A 6'0 man would have been "Goliath" 2000 years ago. I don't think our ancestors were stronger than we are today but they did use their bodies more which yielded a different set of abilities. Physically, they were more able than the 9-5 deskjockey of now, because they werent deskjockies.

I notice a tremendous amount of romanticism about ancestry and I don't really understand it. Living in any other period would have been much more difficult than living today. You can still be strong even with all the advantages of living in the modern world.

A more important question is how come Neanderthals had bigger brains than we do.
