What are your ways of getting rid of boredom/anhedonia in the dark winters?

hi,can you expend,on your basic peat diet, wich fruits, wich startchs, milk,do they make you feel good and increase your enjoyment?
My gut has been a disaster for 2 years. So almost all foods gave me bloating and brain fog. Now with my focus on fixing the gut (its already better), I can eat without much endotoxin effects. I eat: beef, beef liver and other organs, cheeses, some milk (with coffee since milk is constipating for me), not any starches right now, maybe later when my gut is healthy again. Also seafood like shrimp, octopus, mushrooms, eggs, oysters, juices and oranges, melons etc. Unfortunately fruit, while I love it, is still problematic because my gut bacteria feeds in it. So I am cleaning my gut now until I tolerate all peaty foods. And food only sometimes give me enjoyment, since I have had such bad digestion so I am waiting on that enjoyment to come back when candida/SIBO is dealt with

Those are the lamps I was looking to buy! How do you use them? Like how many minutes at what time of the day? And at what distance?
Whatever I find comfortable. I often use the brightest version at daytime and the relax option in the afternoon

Sorry I cant be any more specific, but I just keep it as a distance where I feel its comfortabble and while I still feel its effects. I keep it on most of the time I am in front of my computer during the day. I dont use it the last 4-5 hours or so before I go to bed

I do intricate seed bead work. Engages psychomotor as well as visual spatial which = dopamine hit for me.

But there's not a cold weather/long winter culture in existence that didn't have intricate activities that were primarily done in winter.

You literally need the stimulation & to see the outcome come spring.

In other words: too much idle time in winter is not a good thing.

That looks amazing!! I like that photo display.

You remind me that I used to do some wire work. I better go take a look at my tools.

What a great thread.

Now that I quit my job I’m retooling my activities & it’s starting to feel awesome. You guys are giving me so many great ideas.

That looks really good! Out of curiosity: How long does it take you to do something like this from start to finish?

I think I need a hobby that is more creative and not just about logic. Have a book about drawing, but put it aside after the first couple of times. Maybe I should take Peat as an example and paint naked women.

Depends on the piece, I did this one in about a month of an hour or so an evening.

I'm working on a huge wall piece one now, a fox, that will probably take me until next winter to finish due to it's size.

Yeah I have to force myself out of the logical too, totally worth it.

My friends, family and I have been having fun roick painting! I have done it four times in the last month and we all love it! I just bought the acrylic pens which makes painting them faster, easier and more precise. Here are my rocks so far. My brother painted this cool car!

Playing music, singing, learning to play any instrument. maybe combining that with certain lighting depending on time of day.

Big bowl of porridge in the morning with milk and honey, copious amounts of coffee throughout the day, eating red meat, listening to music, playing/making music, drinking more coffee, compulsively buying things I don't need, taking naps, drinking hot water, using a little topical testosterone, waiting for summer, thinking about splurging on a UVB lamp but can't afford it, more coffee...

...now it's almost spring again!
