I wonder what the psychology is with red lipstick, cause it looks really strange to me, any bright lipstick does, I think. Don’t get me started on those eyebrows that look like it was put on with a Sharpie marker.
About red lipstick, I dunno. That would have to be answered from a guys POV 😉

Sharpie marker eyebrows 😁 Lol, I agree with you. Groomed eyebrows are nice. Drawn on eyebrows, not so nice. To me that look dominates the face too much.

Yikes! They can’t honestly think this looks good. They look like clowns!

This too: In the photo below, the brows just look too….unnatural. No eyebrows grow naturally like that.

Those "eyebrows" are hilarious. My eyebrow hairs are impossible to see because they are pale or sparse. I do use an eyebrow filler but just enough to make it look like I have eyebrows and they never look the same on each side. I like to see young people with good eyebrows like I used to have.

They really do think it looks good. I had a friend’s daughter show up at a wedding I was at with eyebrows looking exactly like those thick ones, and she is a really pretty girl in her twenties. I was stunned and couldn’t stop looking in amazement. They looked so bad! She still does them like that. It is the “in” thing now.

I agree. I don’t like that look, at all.

You can hardly see my eyebrows in my avatar, but mine are closer to #1

#1Younger Candice Swanepoel’s eyebrows and #2 older Candice Swanepoel’s eyebrows:

I still like her *before* eyebrows better, because to me they look more natural.

Some women have bushier eyebrows, but if they are natural looking, they still look better…more natural…

I think the fake eyebrows are reflecting the other fake trends we see today like fake eye slants, fake botox anything…eyes, lips, no expression lines, plastic faces.

kinda getting us away from looking human imo.

On the other hand, if you have a unibrow, by all means, pluck 😁

I am a natural blonde so my eyebrows are a little on the light side, but everytime I darken them a little I feel like I look weird. I can’t wear colored lips, colored fingernail polish or colored eyeshadow for the same reason. It just doesn’t look right on me. Here is my closer avatar. My husband liked red lipstick too and that made up look at night, but I just can’t look good in it. I am lucky I do good naturally, but i I can’t compete with the dolls at night. I always look the same.

I can see your coloring looking good in the red lipstick cause you are a lighter blonde than me.

I’ve read that lipstick (and blush and eyeshadow) mimics the vasodilation associated with sexual arousal so if true, the redder the lips, the greater the arousal? I think red lipstick looks especially pretty on those with dark hair and fair skin. I find the contrast striking. It makes me think of old Hollywood glamour when women wore their hair in a silken wave that framed their face.

Just my 2 cents but red lipstick makes me run faster in the other direction. Too much make up is just too 'Clown' like. More Stephen King movie the It kind of vibe.

Less is best.

Have a great day all :)

You would run in the other direction if you saw the woman below, unsubscribed?

I’m not a fan of makeup myself and only wear it on special occasions, and even then it’s typically just some lipstick in a rose shade so it doesn’t attract too much attention, but I think the lady above looks pretty, however, I can understand if you disagree.

I second your two cents (so we already have 4 cents). The only thing that's worse is those fake, botox (or whatever that is) lips. About the most unattractive thing I can think of.

Edit:
Unrelated to both lips and old people in jacuzzis, but Dr. Peat mentioned in an interview with Patrick Timpone, that a bright red pill has a more effective placebo effect than a pill with neutral color.

There's about 4 billion women in the world some will wear make up some will not. Whatever your taste you will find a woman to fit your needs. If you don't like women wearing lipstick that's fine, go find one that doesn't. The End!

Yes, me too. I occasionally use just a little blondish eye powder on my brows to make them more defined. When I feel like it. Most of the time I use very little makeup. I like it real light, otherwise I feel like it’s smothering my skin. I used to have to wear makeup alot in my former profession. I couldn’t wait to get home and take it off!

Once in a blue moon I’ll wear red lipstick when I’m going out for a special occasion. And that’s if I’m wearing red. Usually I will wear a pinky mauve color for the most part because it seems to suit my coloring better.

I agree. Botox makes women look like aliens in my opinion.

Found it! This is where I read about lipstick mimicking sexual arousal:

I obviously can’t speak for all women so I hope you’ll grant me some leniency with my use of “us” and “we” and other generalities in my comment.

Women are bombarded with messages of what is attractive to men, and even Playboy and other porn material where the women are clearly dolled up, even if they appear “natural,” can send a message of what men find attractive, and when also told that men like variety, I can understand women’s use of artificial tools because at the end of the day, attracting a partner isn’t just about fulfilling sexual needs or a feeling of security, for some or maybe even many, it means feeling a sense of worthiness and I would argue, at its core, feeling loved. Are these women getting Botox injections and wearing heavy makeup taking it too far? It’s not something I personally would do, but I can understand the potential reasons behind it.

Not all women are endowed with plump lips, ample breasts and behinds, legs for days etc. and when given the message that’s what men desire, that if the opportunity was presented to them they would cheat on us or leave us for flawless models, and that we lose value as we age, aging being something no one has yet discovered the antidote to, and worse, get shamed by fellow women who know what it’s like to have insecurities, and then get praised like we discovered the cure to cancer when we’ve dropped a few pounds, the messages get reinforced and I can sympathize with those (including men) who have gone to extremes in the pursuit of attractiveness. I’d rather be alone than be someone I’m not, but I can still sympathize with them.

Anyway, I really appreciate men like you, Luke and unsubscribed, sharing your opinion on the topic. Sadly, for myself and the women in my life, we’ve often heard men say how they want a natural woman but then we see the average women they fantasize about/desire are women with artificial enhancing who often don’t look like they’ve been artificially enhanced, however, I suppose what constitutes natural depends on who we ask. Regardless, I like to believe that our person will think us the bee’s knees without all the smoke and mirrors. On a lighter note—is there something remarkable about a bee’s knees?
