Some state half life is 21 days while some say it is 30 minutes. The graph of vitamin C i have seen shows that it does not raise serum level a lot after 200mg and absorption is hindered.

Does this mean taking grams as single dose for therapatic effect is useless because it is not absorbed? Also, what is its actual half life?

The concentration is more important than the dose. I used to go for about 1 gram per 250ml fluid but less is probably more.

Its half life will be influenced by physiological need, recycling and renal function/fluid turnover. Try to avoid triggering diuresis during the time you're looking to retain it.
