I could not find a vinegar in glass bottle that does not have the metabisulfite in it.

Only alternative is the alcoholic vinegar in plastic bottles, but makes me wonder if the acid slowly disolves the plastic and BPA and phtalates in the plastic? What do you think?

I'm curious about this too, since I share your concern about the plastics.

I'm also wondering how long plastic bottled vinegar can sit on warehouse shelves: if bottles are parked for years, it's no use transferring it to a glass bottle upon purchase. Anyone have a plastic bottle where they can make out a manufacture date relative to the expiration date? I have one with what I think is a manufacturing date, but I don't know how to interpret it ("DC304 11:13 1").

Same concerns here. I make my own pineapple vinegar to avoid metabisulfite and other issues.
