"This study becomes even more alarming when read in conjunction with a reportbased on findings by researchers at Harvard University, that as we age our kidneys do not metabolize and eliminate drugs as efficiently as they once did. This causes these drugs to build up in the body, causing symptoms of cognitive decline which mimic those of dementia."

I wondered about that with my grandfather-in-law. When he got treated for low sodium in France he made quite the turnaround but once he got home to the US they started him on a bunch of drugs and he rapidly declined. I was always suspicious that he may have been over medicated.
