Trump Admin to Crack Down on Soy | Breitbart

For milk lovers, is this good news?

Because of the popularity of alternative milks, demand for real milk has been going down. Milk prices have plummeted, to the delight obviously of Peaters heavy on milk. If Trump should crack down on fake milk, such as soy, rice, almond, and coconut milk, will milk prices go up?

Should we try to convince Trump otherwise? We already know what's good for us. It's what the rest think as bad.

When demand drops, the short run effect is lowered Price. The long run effect is typically a decrease in supply to match demand, bringing Price back up near the original P.

IMO if demand for milk stays low, dairy farmers will simply go out of business and whoever is left will have to start charging more for milk. Increasing demand for milk or putting barriers on substitutes will be good for the long term price of our beloved bovine beverage, so without reading the article, what youre talking about sounds great to me (and less so for our enslaved 4-legged friends :( )

The thing about these milk substitutes: not much calcium, not much protein (milk is already low in protein), have thickeners that are gut irritants, and cost more than milk itself because they have a halo on them. A lot spent for little benefit and much more harm, and a very good margin for their purveyors. In other words, sucking the gullible consumer dry. Again.
