Treatment for pericoronitis

Hey

So I’ve had this pain in the gum next to my wisdom tooth that’s been erupting, had it for a week now, the pain is only there when I swallow, as if the swallowing motion causes pain to that part.
The gum is quite swolen there too. Have not been feeling too good and have had colder temps.

Sent a photo to my dentist and he thinks it is pericoronitis, the flap next to the wisdom tooth is basically infected.

From today onwards I’ve been swishing with hydrogen peroxide diluted, hot salt water and trying to brush under the flap of gum.

He said if this doesn’t work then amoxicillin antibiotics is the way to go.

It doesn’t seem that amoxicillin is that bad of an anti biotic at all, but any suggestions or objections here ?

Thanks
