Hi guys,

I remember some studies about onion juice being effective for hair loss. Recently after seeing that DHT biding to receptor is mainly the culprit of MPB but not DHT by itself. I thought that the active ingredient in onion quercetin could have some positive effect on hair loss.

I stumble upon this study that seems to prove it benefits Quercitrin Stimulates Hair Growth with Enhanced Expression of Growth Factors via Activation of MAPK/CREB Signaling Pathway

Anyone here already tried topical quercetin for hair loss?

This is very interesting. I see in the study they use an extract of Hoyttunia Cordata, a herb that I have at home, which I know for its anti-radiation properties. I didn't know it was a source of quercetrin (which I suppose is same as quercetin). If you try topical quercetin on your scalp I'd be interested to know how it turns out.

For what it's worth, quercetin is an anti-Peat substance; at least last I heard. That issue aside, I believe quercetin is bright yellow and could really be tough to use topically.
