I bought her book and it's very informative.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed their teeth becoming more opaque at the base? It's almost like they are filling in from the inside. The other day my teeth were aching and I looked in the mirror and noticed they looked very strong at the bottom almost like they were remineralizing from the roots. It seems pretty soon since I've only been doing this about 10 days but that's what I've noticed and I'm very encouraged!

I posted a link talking about this in one of my threads, but Ill repost. This doctor uses lactoferrin and xylitol to save the limbs of diabetic patients. Very pertinent interview: Interview with Dr. Randall Wolcott, bacterial biofilm wound specialist

Excellent interview, thanks for the link. These biofilms are nasty and tenacious! I am beginning to think that xylitol is the key element in Dr Ellie's system with the Closys (chlorine dioxide) running a close second.

I agree with you on the xylitol @Seleniodine. I haven’t tried closys yet - xylitol alone with what I have mentioned above is killing it for me.

@pimpnamedraypeat check this out.

Anyone experience what this lady claims? I was all set to buy all the stuff but now may just try the xylitol gum first and see what happens.

"The third and main negative was that the black-line sort of tooth staining that began to develop on my teeth around the five-month mark. When learning about her program, I had found various statements by Dr. Ellie that this black-line stain might develop around the six-month point, and that it could be cleaned off easily by a dental hygienist, and would not return. Therefore, I was not worried when I saw it forming on my teeth, and I booked a cleaning with a dentist. The stains were moderately bad, and I was embarrassed by them, but I thought they would be eliminated by one dental cleaning and then not return. Unfortunately, the black plaque re-appeared two weeks after my dental visit, and continued to get worse and spread farther around my teeth. The visible black plaque spider-web type lines made it appear to strangers as if I did not take care of my oral hygiene in the slightest. I was self-conscious about opening my mouth in public. I even tried to gently scrape the lines off myself with a dental pick from the drugstore, but it would grow right back.

I researched the black-line stain more, and found a few internet mentions of it by other dental professionals -- it may be a type of dark-colored plaque that can grow in mouths (especially children's and women's) which are paradoxically too clean and too well-taken-care-of! It can occur when the balance in the mouth is altered by killing too many of the good bacteria along with the bad bacteria. A lack of good bacteria can give this tenacious dark plaque free rein." https://www.amazon.com/Kiss-Your-Dentist-Goodbye-Yourself/dp/1929774672

As you can see the poster mentions that it may be because the Phillips system makes the mouth too clean and this bacteria then grows without competition. Which brings up something that I may have misunderstood. The Doctor says that you really should work with the body's healthy mouth flora and not wipe it out. However it seems between the three rinses you are doing exactly that, and sterilizing the mouth.

Not that I understood this, but my inner intuition said to stick to the toothpaste - I use crest a few days and earthpaste the other others, good brush she recommended, stopped everything with glycerin, use xylitol as a mouthwash on earthpaste days and dr. Tichnors on crest days (similar to listerine but cleaner), and xylitol candies after food. Working great - only seeing improvements.

The lady who wrote that Amazon review also said she had great gains in the beginning but then starting in month 9 got these black lines across her teeth. Her guess was that the system kills off all the good bacteria as well as the bad and this one bacteria that cause the black tartar can grow out of control.
I was listening to the second podcast and Dr Ellie says that her system doesn't destroy the good bacteria though I am not sure how as Listerine is supposed to kill 99% of the bacteria.

My guess @x-ray peat it is not the listerine, otherwise think how many people have been using for how many years? Must be the totality of the system over time. Also again my thought that such a heavy protocol was not needed in my case. It seems more helpful for SERIOUS problems and maybe not forever, but only needed for a short period of time. What I have found remarkable is that xylitol is providing results associated to her claims safely.

Dr. Ellie has been doing her full program for decades. Take a look at her teeth.
Look at the testimonials on her website.
If she was causing damage of any kind she would stop, she is that type of human being, caring, honest and filled with integrity...

I actually agree with you @achillea and have shared with over 20 people from my personal network. But this actually doesn't answer @x-ray peat's concern. Who knows what was going on in that one individual's case to cause that problem? Seems to be a more individualized reaction.

Delicious Sugar Free Xylitol Candy & More | Dr. John's Candies®

They're having a sale on monday in case anyone is interested. Interesting selection including chocolates and stuff not just mints/hard candy. They also use other important sugar alcohols like maltitol and erythritol... Erythritol is even more anticavity, antifungal, etc. than xylitol and has a less "cooling" taste, which is good for some things and not for others.

I sent this review from Amazon to Dr. Ellie. Here is her response:

Hi there - and thanks for the heads-up!

I have been teaching my Complete Mouth Care System method of oral health for over 30 years.
I have hundreds of thousands of success stories - and some that are known like the story of Patrick, total success in twelve weeks - no cleanings, no flossing - just amazing resolution of dental problems!

Yes, between all these amazing successes are one or two cases where people have had some staining - but in all cases their oral health greatly improved - which is important.
Since I have not consulted with these people - it's difficult to know why.
I have some "theories" - but with so many variables it is virtually impossible to figure out what everyone is eating, doing, whom they are kissing etc. and why this stain may happen to some people and not to most.

I will write an article soon to address staining, since there are many kinds of stain.
Any stain that was experienced after using my system was removed by a dental cleaning.
In other words, this stain is superficial - I believe most likely it is old plaque that was attached to the cement-enamel junction years ago when the mouth was infected.

My system does not KILL any bacteria. It nurtures healthy bacteria and only makes plaque less able to multiply and less able to stick to teeth.
My system does not make the mouth "too clean" - exactly the opposite.

My system nurtures an incredible diversity of good bacteria - and my mouth and others have tested to prove this.

Of course, to have good diversity - good diet and nutrition are also involved.

I will try to put this to rest with an article and I will let you know when I post it.
I have a new book coming out in 2018 which will explain how to develop a healthy oral microbiome in more detail.

Thanks again for telling me about this!

Thanks for asking her. She is probably right as that doesnt seem to happen to a lot of people. I am still a little worried about the fluoride rinse and fluoride toothpaste so may do a modified version without that part. I think she is ok with just plain baking soda as long as you dont use hydrogen peroxide.
