@Vida take a look at SHBG,it's interesting its lower than the other 2 groups, the hormones show clear difference between the control and the other 2 groups.
@Koveras great find.

Look at the impressive difference on Pregnanediol, a progesterone metabolite.

Am I getting it right?

I think this could interest @haidut a lot.

The 5alpha-androstane-3beta-17betadiol which is more than double in control group and is... an estrogen????

3β-Androstanediol - Wikipedia

3β-Androstanediol, also known as 5α-androstane-3β,17β-diol, and often shortened to 3β-diol, is an endogenous steroid hormone. It is a 5α-reduced and 17β-hydroxylated metabolite of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) as well as a 3β-hydroxylated metabolite of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). 3β-Diol is a selective, potent, high-affinity full agonist of the ERβ, and hence, an estrogen.[2] It has higher affinity for this receptor than estradiol.[2]

"Conjugation involves the addition of sulfate or glucuronide groups to the free steroid estrogen or androgen, which promotes excretion from the body (Fig. 2)"

More excretion in the control maybe?

Or higher levels of precursors

Yeah very good point. Better excretion of estrogens. Could be.

That's the interesting bit isn't it? Some Steroid parental-copmouns like Pregnenolone are lower in controls whil it's sulftae is higher, and vice versa.
It's a pity Androsterone and Epiandrosterone is not measured. Both sulfats are drastically higher in control - so are Androsterone and Epiandrosterone also higher or lower?

3ß-diol is a metabolite of both Androsterone and DHT - DHT and Andro-Sulfate are both higher in controls, so 3ß-diol not surprisingly is as well - it's conjugate that is. Again, a pity that no measurement of actual 3ß-diol is given.
3ß-diol is classified as an estrogen because it binds primarily on ERß - I suspect it is a very crucial substance for a positive stae of mind / alpha-mindset if you like, becuase of it's regukatory role on the HPA-axs stress response and Oxytocin-expression - so technically it might be an estrogen, it's important to being a functional male. That's the beauty of biochemistry, and the oversimlplification of "estrogenic" = bad does not add up most of the time, especially in neuroendocrinology.

DHEA-S highe in controls in no surpris either, it's very much established for having beneficial cognitive and mood effects, though how sulfates actually work as neurosteroids is unclear. DHEA high on the other hand signifies adaption to long-term stress and is not necessarily positive.

Pregenolone as well - sulfates high in control while Preg low indicates it is a substance better inactivated in the brain.

Unlikely and a bit unlogical, no offense.
If it were so, hy is Androsterone-Sulfate so high in controls as well, clearly an androgen. I figure these are all serum levels, to find indications for higher excretion one has to measure sweat or urine.
Sulfates have effects for themselves, not only as reserves for substances or inactivation.

3ß-diol is something you were interested in as a pheromone yes?

Maybe the increased conjugation and sulfation is representative of better liver and metabolic health in general.

Possibly a phero, yes , but also a very promising adjuvant agent in mental disorders or a nootropic. I have no stake in any of that, just a keen interest, Neuroendocrinology is becoming a hobby.

Both DHT and allopregnanolone are low, both require 5a reducatse to be synthesized. So there seems to be a 5aR deficiency of some sort contributing to anxiety and depression in males.
