Just thinking, what if provide a steady but not excessive inflow of carbs for a T2 diabetic person? Say, dissolve 100-150 grams of sugar in 2-3L of water and drink it through the day. No other carbs. This should deal with the cortisol reaction, and, on the other hand, not lead to elevated blood sugars and maybe normalize the way how glucose is handled. Because if a diabetic eats a meal with only 30-50 grams of carbs, it is high BG guaranteed, and I don't think anybody believes high BG is not detrimental in the long run. Carbs may not be a cause of diabetes, but when glucose is out of whack for months and years, it probably is an obstacle for the body to heal anyways.
