I think we can say that viruses don't exist at this point. All of these signatures that are being observed are really unspecific markers of stress and toxicity.

You got that from those alternative medicine sites didn't you? Herpes exists and it's existence is objectively measurable.

Is that so pimp, has herpes or any virus for that matter ever been purified along hard Kochian Perth Group protocol lines. In other words do you have evidence of isolated purified proteins that are cross referntially specific across all infected and disease affected? For HIV The Perth Group make a thus far irrefutable argument that this has never happened. The ironic defense of the virologists against The PG is that their protocol would mean that all the other viruses don't exist either. The PG were hesitant to take their arguments to the next level, I'm not.

anyone have good remedies for herpes they've identified since this thread started?

Methylene blue (MB), orally and/or on the herpes spot seems to stop them in their track. Since herpes thrives on and gets reactivated by NO, and one of MB's primary effects if stopping NO production and scavenging already circulating NO, its benefit is to be expected.
Also, there is an FDA-approved topical anti-herpes drug with the alcohol form (docosanol) of a long-chain saturated fat known as behenic acid. So, topical policosanol would probably work too as it contains docosanol, and some of the longer chain alcohols like octacosanol are even stronger anti-virals.

Over the last few months, I received at least 20 emails from people questioning Peat's statements that viruses are activated by physical or emotional stress, estrogen, NO, prolactin, etc. Keep in mind that estrogen, NO, and prolactin are all biomarkers of stress themselves. This study explains how the cell's response to stress actually causes the virus reactivation and spread to other cells. What is even more important, a study like this provides evidence for a direct causative link between stress and certain types of cancer like sarcomas and lymphomas. Now, imagine that every type of cancer can be caused by this mechanism...

Mutations in TP53 gene are rarely found in KSHV-associated malignancies. Therefore, the work now provides a mechanistic explanation as to why the virus has evolved to retain active p53. The researchers believe understanding the molecular events that connect cellular stresses with herpesvirus reactivation will lead to the development of next-generation antiviral strategies that can be used to treat human cancers caused by oncogenic herpesviruses, such as primary effusion lymphoma, for which there is currently no cure.
