Obviously it is not desirable, but it is not a tragedy either.

The fact that the mold was not inside means the spores did not get inside in large quantities.

Some people have mold like that inside their unventilated houses.

I had mold like that inside an old apartment I rented for more than 3 years. It's quite destructive.

Supplementing thyroid and T3 appears to an easy therapeutic against the more severe effects of chronic mold exposure.

But yeah it's a big problem that is often not addressed at all. A dehumidifer is necessary in a lot of climates and most people don't use one at all.
