Testosterone shortens lifespan?

Just because castration can extend lifespan doesn't mean that testosterone can shorten it.

Haidut mentioned this on his most recent live stream with Danny Roddy (starting at 33 minutes)

So, likely higher levels of pregnenolone and progesterone and probably DHEA, lower levels of testosterone, DHT, and probably estrogen, prolactin, and serotonin, too.

And that is only looking at some steroids. Removing the sex organs likely free up other energy that can be used by other parts of the organism.

do you think trt would increase or decrease lifespan?

It's not the testosterone, it's the sperm production, which is a demanding and stressful metabolic process. Eunuchs don't need to waste bodily resources on a fluid that is, at worst, liberarly expulsed every day. In smaller organisms such as worms the effect is even larger: stopping their sperm production increases their lifespan by up to 50%.

Again, it depends. Most TRT is done with esters, not base testosterone. A lot of the gels and creams have weird excipients, many of them are in a PUFA base. If an excess converts to estrogen, that would be bad, and maybe a net negative. Ignoring earlier hormones in the chain, like pregnenolone and DHEA, could also have problematic effects. And there are also issues with suppression, taking higher doses.

I don't think the way TRT is administered in a majority of cases is very beneficial. But it probably wouldn't decrease lifespan.

If using base test in more physiological doses along with earlier precursors, mixed in a vitamin E solution, I think it could be beneficial and extend lifespan and overall health. Even in higher doses, base test might still be beneficial-

One other consideration....... anything that increases metabolism has the potential to be a stressor, if there isn't adequate food or fuel for the body.

Does higher ZINC intake compensate this effect?

To some indefinite extent. Intake of food and hormones will no doubt help you compensate for the loss. However, it is possible that not all things that producing sperm requires from the body are easily replaceable.
