Testicular steroidogenesis is decreased by hyperthermia in old rats. - PubMed - NCBI
"Hyperthermia significantly decreased the testicular testosterone level in old male rats and significantly lowered the StAR protein level. These data imply that frequent hot baths might impair testicular steroidogenesis, especially in old men."

Effects of local testicular heat treatment on Leydig cell hyperplasia and testosterone biosynthesis in rat testes. - PubMed - NCBI
"Heat treatment reduced serum and testicular testosterone concentrations. Consistent with this finding, heat stress downregulated two enzymes required for testosterone biosynthesis, namely cytochrome P450, family 17 (CYP17) and steroidogenic acute regulatory protein, in Leydig cells. Together, the results suggest that testicular heat leads to Leydig cell hyperplasia and a reduction in testosterone biosynthesis in adult rat testes."

The problem is rats will be scared and stressed when put into hot water. The great stress will lower their testosterone.

I think rats would be stressed when put into any water- hot, cold, or otherwise.

The mechanism for lowering testosterone shown in these studies was a decrease in StAR protein which I believe transfers cholesterol into the mitochondria from the outside. The cholesterol side chain should then be cleaved by cytochrome P450. This is the first step in all steroid synthesis and is being prevented from happening.

Furthermore it is well known that exposing the testicles to heat prevents sperm from being produced- look up "heat based contraceptive." This effect may even last for weeks or months.

Is your laptop cooking your testicles?
Also it seems having your laptop on your lap can have the same hyperthermic effect on the testicles by changing the temperature a few degrees.

Doesn't taurine increase that conversion?

That the reason testicles are placed out of the body.it is very well known fact they have to be a bit cooler than body's temp.
