I am new to the forum but I have been following the forum for about 4 years. I have hypertension and have tried all the peat recommendations for reducing blood pressure. I am now on 40mg of telmisartan but my blood pressure remains stubbornly high. I recently found out the telmisartan blocks the vitamin D receptors. Please could anyone elaborate on this and what are your experiences with telmisartan or similar. The side effects are numerous and I am concerned it may be doing more harm than good. My Gp is keen for me to use a calcium channel blocker. I have ehlers danlos and calcium channel blockers can also block the vitamin c and iron channels therefore would have a detrimental effect on collagen production. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.
