T3 vs T3/T4

Why is it better to take a combo of T3 and T4, as opposed to just T3 alone? Also, what is a good ratio?

Because the T4 keeps the TSH down - Ray says it's good to take it your T4 night to minimize nighttime stress reaction. I think there is a quote somewhere where he said his heart skipped a beat every so often when he just took the Cytomel, but it stopped when he added some T4. As for ratios, I wrote to him last year about that and he said "most people feel best" on a ratio between 2:1 and 4:1 (T4 to T3).
