T3 causing night time events

I've been working with a helpful doctor to trial some t3 and I'm definitely finding it beneficial during the day. Then at night I have no difficulty getting to sleep, but about 3 hours after getting to sleep, I'm suddenly wide awake and can't seem to hold still. If I try to stay in bed, I'll be restlessly writhing around for hours. If I get up and have some carbohydrate then I can usually come right back and be asleep again within 15 minutes. This never happens when I'm not taking T3. Any idea what is going on with me?

Right. I suspect you are on to something. One problem with that particular workaround is that I have a complete intolerance for ANY fructose (including sucrose), though starches don't seem to be problematic. Eating some starch before bed allows me to get 3 hours of sleep, but I've not been able to find anything I can do before bed that gets me past the 3 or 4 hour mark.

Chewable glucose tablets might be worth trying then, keep them by your bed.

you can try
more carbs and glucose throughout the day
T4

figure out why you are not tolerating fruits
B1 might help

lots of calcium
Ca:ph ratio etc

and the basics: track temp and HR throughout the day

I've listened to dozens of hours of interviews with Peat and read 80% of the articles on his page. That's how I knew to even try carbohydrate in the middle of the night. Solid advice.That being said I'm still stumped. Your t4 comment could be on track though. I've been wondering if I should try some t4 along with the t3. As far as eating carbs go, I'm already eating enough carbs throughtout the day to steadily gain weight daily. My ca:ph is VERY high on the CA side as I get about 4 grams per day. I've taken massive doses of thiamine HCL, Thiamine pyrophosphate, TTFD, benfotamine and sulbutiamine for the past 2 years and have seen ZERO improvement from that. Fructose/sucrose gives me neuorpathy and amnesia. LIke as in a little sugar makes it so thatI can't form new memories for weeks. No issues with starch though.

So Peat recommends, when starting out with thyroid supplementation,
to try T3 during the day (just a little at a time)
see how you do,
and if good, add a little T4 to the night dose
see how you do with that, titrate as needed, slowly

I experienced adverse effects from the B1s - except for TPP sublingual
small dose is enough for me

In some circles, taking biotin first allows for B1 to work second
I think it is a good idea to start low and slow with anything

how are your D levels?

it can take a while to 'get' Peat's framework
as a lived experience
when you do, it's - beauty

I have been very surprised at the amount of carbs my body needs
I let cravings and appetite guide
If you are concerned with weight gain
Kate Deering has some strategies

you might need more carbs at first to quiet down the stress hormones
getting thyroid dose right will help bring 'em down too
concerted effort

did you always have this with fruits or did it develop over time?
I'm curious :)

I recall Peat saying that the the thing with oysters is that they cannot be farmed inland (in pools) whereas other seafood can
the point being that the sea is providing the mineral content
you can look it up on bionergetic.life and track exactly what he said

so if you can get other seafoods you do like that you know for sure are farmed from the sea
that should have the mineral content too

You remind me, I was getting neuropathy during my sleep in winter
and I titrated thyroid up (T4/T3) and that got rid of it
