Patient evaluated for potential Ebola virus at Primary Children’s Hospital

SALT LAKE CITY — A patient with symptoms that “raised some concern for Ebola” was admitted into Primary Children’s Hospital, officials announced Thursday.

“While we have determined it is unlikely that the patient has Ebola virus, Primary Children’s has taken this opportunity to use the emergency plan that we have been working on for the past few months in order to provide the maximum protection to staff, patients, families and the greater community in the event we do have a patient with an Ebola infection in the future,” a statement from Primary Children’s Hospital reads.

Two patients in Kentucky with Ebola-like symptoms have been quarantined for examination.

After the first case of Ebola was diagnosed in the US, doctors say they don't want to take any risks even though the two patients in Kentucky tested negative for the infection.

Hawaii Department of Health rules out Ebola in Honolulu patient

The Hawaii Department of Health has ruled out Ebola in a Honolulu patient.

The patient was in isolation and undergoing testing at Queen’s Medical Center.

“After investigation by the health department, it was determined that the individual did not meet the clinical or travel exposure criteria for an Ebola infection,” said Health Director Dr. Linda Rosen.

The department said Thursday that the patient was no longer under evaluation for possible Ebola infection.

Person With Possible Ebola Symptoms Hospitalized in D.C.

WASHINGTON (WNEW) — A person with possible Ebola symptoms has been hospitalized in D.C. out of “an abundance of caution.”

The patient, who traveled to the U.S. from Nigeria, has been hospitalized at Howard University Hospital in Washington.

Cobb Co. Jail inmate being tested for Ebola

COBB COUNTY, Ga. —

The Cobb County Jail is no longer accepting inmates after an inmate developed a fever. The man told jail officials that he recently traveled to Africa.

Jail officials confirm to Channel 2's Ross Cavitt that the inmate is being tested for Ebola.

Sarasota patient has Ebola-like symptoms

Sarasota, Florida -- Sarasota Memorial Hospital went on high alert Friday when a patient who recently arrived from West Africa came to the emergency department with symptoms similar to Ebola.

The patient has been admitted for treatment and observation, according to the hospital.

CDC investigating possible Ebola scare on Newark flight

NEW YORK --
United Flight 998 from Brussels landed at Newark Airport and has been met by Centers for Disease Control officials based in Newark.

A passenger on board, believed to be from Liberia, exhibited possible signs of Ebola.

Officials with the CDC removed two passengers from the plane. He had been traveling with his daughter and both have been removed from the plane by a CDC crew in full HAZMAT gear. Other passengers remain aboard.
