Unless someone is lactating, how are they excreting this iron-chelate?

The mother was likely excreting via the kidneys as well. It does not make sense for it only to excrete that way. Though we can't know for sure.

in one of the toxicity studies it is stated that the black pigment are the tetracyclines themselves,undergoing some transformation.Also said that staining in some tissues (ocular,permanent skin discoloration,black thyroid,black bone) can result from permanent storage of remnants of the drug,which can be rather large amounts seemingly.
