Not even sure how to really word this question, but you know the names at the end of supplements like: carbonate, chloride, citrate, gylcinate, bicarbonate, etc (there are so many)? What are these terms called? And what do they mean exactly?

Like I know glycinate has something to do with glycine, but I'd really like to understand more. I was trying to find an article that would hopefully list all of these things and what they mean, but I couldn't find anything (if someone has something like that it be great if you could link it). Over the years I've come to understand some are favored more then others on here, so I usually just ask "what is the best form of magnesium" and someone will write this one is best because it absorbs best or another reason, but I'd like to understand the chemistry behind it or whatever instead of just reading names and not really knowing what it means.
